Our students are children and adolescents with autism. They are of age 3 to 25 functioning on different levels and with various initial potential. Most of them do not speak, do not copy and do not relate to objects or other people. Numerous autostimulations, aggressive and autoaggresive behaviors as well as stereotypical movements regarding places and people obstruct their social functioning. Thanks to the therapy in The Center every child is able to develop his potential, learn new skills and feel free from autistic restrictions. Every child fulfills it’s individualized educational program that is tailored to it's abilities. Children work one-to-one with a teacher. Programs develop all spheres of child’s development and depending on his age the emphasis is put on particular skills. For small children programs focus on speech development by joining a peer group. Adolescents and adults learn mainly independence and undertake efforts of occupational work. Our students are given therapy not only in The Center. Some of them attend preschools and regular schools where with the help of our teacher they are integrated with healthy peers. They all spend 3-4 hours a day on learning. |
